Mini Med School: This series will provide insight into the world of genetic counselling. Learn how genetic counsellors are helping to lead the integration of genetics into patient care across all specialties of medicine. Presented by Dr. Jehannine Austin, Mini Med School Dean.

Gairdner High School Symposium: a half-day event held each fall that gives secondary students and teachers the opportunity to hear from Gairdner award-winning scientists and health science experts, and attend a behind-the-scenes tour of BC Children's Hospital research facilities. This event is hosted in conjunction with the Center for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT). October 24th, registration opens Sept 14th
Discovery Days in Health Sciences: a one-day event that give secondary school students and teachers the opportunity to explore a variety of career options in medicine and the health sciences.
Engineering Explorations 9: Go ENG Girl Saturday, October 15 Grade 9 girls – join us for an exciting day of exploration. Get creative and participate in fun engineering activities. Tour engineering labs, connect with other like-minded students and talk to current engineering students and professionals who will share their stories and experience.
Engineering Explorations 12 Saturday, November 5 Are you a grade 12 girl who is curious about engineering? Want to see what university is like? Come to the University of British Columbia for our inaugural grade 12 girls conference in November! The conference is an exciting opportunity for grade 12 girls to participate in hands-on workshops, explore the University of British Columbia, meet engineering students and compete in a design competition!

Saturday, November 26 Engineers Save the World – we would like to invite you and your students to come and find out how. Join us, Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 10am to 4pm. Did you know engineers do more than build bridges and design fast cars? Engineers help prevent disease, reduce poverty and create solutions to protect people and our planet. There’ll be cool demonstrations, fascinating lab tours, and informative presentations. Talk to academic advisors, professors and current students about all your options. Learn how engineering can make a world of difference. Bring your friends and family to explore – we suggest you plan to attend the whole day, as there are activities happening throughout the day. This year, the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture as well as the School of Nursing will also be at our Academic Booth Fair.

Girls in Grades 6-9 are invited to take part in the Maker Girls Club Series. Maker Girls are Engineering and Science workshops with exciting demonstrations, hands-on experiments and make and take creations. Workshops include 2 instructors and a VPL librarian equipped with all the supplies, enthusiasm, and excitement for each 1.5-hour workshop. Registration is required

Winter Clubs (for grades 1-12 students) – run by Geering Up – open to all students
September 24 – December 2 | Saturdays at 10amOur after-school clubs are a mix of science and engineering through hands-on projects, demos, design challenges, lab tours! All clubs are taught by experienced university students with a passion for their field of study.
UBC Engineering Tours
Are you a prospective UBC Engineering student? Do you want to apply to Engineering but aren't sure of what exciting adventures UBC holds? Come on an hour long tour of the study spaces, buildings and lab spaces in Engineering! A different engineering student team will be featured each week and there will be an optional 30min Q&A session with an advisor at the end of the tour.
For the fall term, UBC Engineering Tours will be scheduled on Tuesdays at 3:30pm.
